About the Role
ThePEDI.org is seeking a skilled and strategic Communications Manager to lead and elevate our organization’s voice across all platforms. This role is integral to shaping how The PEDI communicates its mission of advancing excellence in product design and innovation. As Communications Manager, you will oversee the development and execution of The PEDI’s communications strategy, ensuring consistency, engagement, and alignment with our goals.
You will manage internal and external communications, including media relations, social media strategy, brand messaging, and content creation. This role offers the opportunity to work with a passionate team, influence the narrative around product design, and reach diverse audiences globally.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy to amplify The PEDI’s mission and programs.
Manage The PEDI’s brand voice across all channels, ensuring consistency and authenticity.
Create and oversee engaging content for The PEDI’s website, social media platforms, newsletters, and publications.
Build and maintain relationships with media outlets and secure press coverage for The PEDI’s initiatives.
Collaborate with leadership and program teams to craft messaging that reflects organizational priorities.
Monitor and analyze communications performance metrics, adjusting strategies as needed.
Lead crisis communications, when necessary, ensuring timely and effective responses.
Manage external vendors and freelancers supporting communication efforts.
Qualifications
3–5 years of experience in communications, public relations, or a related field.
Proven ability to craft compelling narratives that resonate with diverse audiences.
Strong writing, editing, and content creation skills.
Experience managing social media platforms and digital marketing campaigns.
Ability to translate complex topics into clear, engaging messages.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Familiarity with design, innovation, or nonprofit sectors is a plus.
